Safilo Group S.p.A reported sales of its sports products, which include Smith Optics sunglasses and googles, reached €27.4 million in the fourth quarter, up 5.7 percent in currency netural (c-n) terms. Sports products sales increased 7.3 percent c-n to €76.3 million for the whole year.


The Italian eyewear company reported its North American revenues reached €457.9 million in 2013, down 2.5 percent c-n compared with €488.7 million in 2012. That included sales of €80 million at Solstice, its U.S. retailer, where sales increased 2.4 percent c-n.
 
Total North American revenues for the fourth quarter amounted to €108.4 million, down 7.9 percent c-n compared with the €125.0 million in the fourth quarter of 2012.  Organic sales growth in North America, helped offset a slowdown in sales in Latin America.
