The Rockport Co. said that Hill Holliday Connors Cosmopulos of Boston will be its advertising agency of record. The decision to work with Hill, Holliday comes as Rockport launches several new products and incorporates Adidas' Torsion technology into its shoes this fall.
The Canton, MA-based comfort footwear maker was acquired by Adidas as part of the Reebok deal.
The decision followed an ad agency review. According to Adweek, Hill, Holliday handled Reebok's account in the 1990s, winning several significant industry awards for its efforts, but the agency has not been a player in the footwear and apparel categories in recent years. According to Nielsen Monitor-Plus, Rockport spends $5 million annually in measured media.
“Rockport is a company with a strong brand, with superior products, and is poised for significant growth,” Karen Kaplan, president of the Boston office of Hill Holliday, said in a statement. “We're thrilled they've chosen us to help them take the company to the next level.”
Hill Holliday is owned by the Interpublic Group of Cos. of New York; Hill Holliday clients include CVS Corp.'s pharmacy chain, Dunkin' Donuts, and Anheuser-Busch Cos.
