Performance eyewear brand, Revo and Tahoe Stand Up Paddleboards have partnered on the Tahoe Explore Project, a new short-film series inspiring stand up paddleboarders to use the sport as a way to explore global destinations as well as their own backyards. Revo will serve as the official eyewear sponsor of the Project.

We were drawn to Tahoe SUP given their focus on touring, expeditions and the environment, said Julie Schaffner, Revo Brand Director. Enjoying and protecting the world around us through adventure, travel and environmental consciousness are all themes that run deeply through Revos DNA. Both Revo and Tahoe SUP believe that it is important to get out and explore your surroundings and take the time to truly appreciate them.

Revos 100% polarized eyewear collection is designed for an active lifestyle, from a styling, fit and performance perspective. These attributes, paired with the brands new Water lens, specifically tuned for use in water environments, make it the perfect compliment to SUP activity. The Revo Water lens eliminates glare while adjusting for the excess blues and greens that are reflected in and around water, allowing the wearer to see more naturally balanced colors in water environments.

This partnership with Tahoe SUP marks Revos dedicated entry into the stand up paddle community. The companys new Water lens positions Revo to legitimately offer a relevant, performance focused lens that will enhance every paddlers experience out on the water.

Revo and Tahoe SUP will kick off their partnership with the film premier of the Catalina Island EXPLORE episode during the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market Tradeshow in August 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The premier will take place at Pierpont Place Friday, August 5th at 7pm.

Revos Eco Collection features eyewear made from Revo Re-Use, a frame material made from 100 percent recycled pre-consumer polymer resins, and Revo Eco-Use, a sustainable take on traditional plastic made from the seed of the castor bean plant in place of widely used petroleum-based nylons. Revo is owned by Luxottica Group, the Milan, Italy-based optics giant that also owns Oakley.

Each Tahoe SUP model features displacement hull technology, developed from research with the Tahoe SUP Race and Explore Project Team. The stability of the boards combined with the displacement hull and added volume for carrying cargo, provides the opportunity to explore and go on tour.
