Private-equity firms KKR & Co LP and Sycamore Partners are
considering a joint bid for Jones Group, the parent of Nine West, the
Wall Street Journal reported. In July, Jones Group hired Citigroup Inc
to explore a potential
sale of parts or all of the company.
Citing people familiar with
the matter, the WSJ report indicated that a number of other
private-equity and industry players are also considering offers for parts of
the company. Second-round bids are due within the next two weeks, the paper added.
Jones Group, Sycamore Partners and KKR declined to comment.
Other
footwear brands owned by Jones Group include Joan & David, Stuart
Weitzman, Enzo Angiolini, Easy Spirit, Bandolino and Mootsies Tootsies.
Apparel brands include Jones New York, Anne Klein and Rachel Roy.
