Authorities have charged five people with trafficking more than $70 million in counterfeit Nike Air Jordan sneakers, according to a report in the North Jersey Record.
The shoes were shipped from China into Newark, NJ, when the Nike logo was added to make them look like Air Jordans, Geoffrey S. Berman, the United States attorney for the Southern District of New York, told the Record. The shoes were then taken to Queens to sell, Berman said.
