REI Co-op on Friday, July 22 plans to open the doors to new stores in Glenwood Springs, CO, and Town and Country, MO.
At both locations, three-day celebrations are scheduled for July 22-24.
The Glenwood Springs’ location, at 3216 South Glen Avenue, Suite A at Roaring Fork Marketplace, measures 20,300 square feet. It joins eight other locations in Colorado – Boulder (opened 1989), Colorado Springs (opened 1999), Denver (opened 1983, relocated to flagship location in 2000), Dillon (opened 2017), Fort Collins (opened 1994), Grand Junction (opened 2000), Greenwood Village (opened 1998), and Lakewood (opened 1994).
“The community has been very welcoming to our arrival and our team of 41 is excited to be a resource to local residents’ active lifestyles and visitors who come to play in this amazing region,” said Jace Harms, REI store manager. “Whether trying a new activity or heading out on a familiar trail or waterway, we aspire to be at the center of people’s outdoor lives for products and expertise.”
The Town and Country is located at 1214 Town and Country Crossing Drive, near Hwy 141 & Clayton Rd. It measures 23,000 square feet. The store joins the co-op’s St. Louis location, which opened in 2001 and is located about nine miles away.

As a co-op, REI annually invests millions of dollars in local nonprofit organizations to steward trails, waterways and parks and connect people to the outdoors.
Over the last five years, the co-op has invested nearly $3.7 million in Colorado-based land agencies and nonprofit partners. Recent regional recipients include Blackpackers, Colorado Fourteeners Initiative, Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association, Colorado West Land Trust, Friends of the Dillon Ranger District, McConnell Science Museum, Rocky Mountain Field Institute and Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado.
Since 2002, the co-op has invested $522,000 in Missouri land agencies and nonprofit partners, of which $186,000 was directed to St. Louis-based nonprofits. Investments this year include Great Rivers Greenway Foundation, Heartland Conservation Alliance, Ozark Trail Association, Trailnet and Urban Trail Co.
REI has 175 locations in 41 states and the District of Columbia.
