Reef said it extended San Clemente surfer Tia Blanco to a “head-to-toe” Reef Ambassador.

“Tia Blanco brings exceptional surfing talent and ability to Reef at such a young age of 16. Her self awareness, competitive passion, and her interest in a healthy and sustainable lifestyle make up the Reef Ambassador and future success story she is,” says Global Reef Ambassador Manager Shea Perkins.

Blanco, a Trestles local, has become one of the hottest up and coming West Coast surfers. Being a daughter of a Coast Guard, Blanco was born in Puerto Rico and has lived in Hawaii as well as several spots in Southern California. This graceful goofyfoot is a member of the prestigious Surfing America team. She is the perfect Ambassador for Reef’s boots, shoes, and fashion-forward sandals that combine exotic styling with instant comfort.

“Reef is truly a top notch company. When I first got sponsored, they took me to Tahiti in the first month. It was one of the most memorable trips of my life. The crew I traveled with was incredibly nice and genuine. And they were equally supportive of each of their team riders, which I really appreciated. It didn't take long to realize that Reef is a great family to be a part of, and it’s a huge honor to represent the brand,” Blanco says.

And while Blanco is committed to Surfing America Prime and NSSA events, she is extremely well rounded, enjoying painting and yoga while living a vegan lifestyle. While she is focused on a National title and maintaining her 4.0 GPA at Connections Academy, her long term goal is to make the ASP Women’s World Tour.
