Reebok and the NBA have signed a deal to develop and market NBA apparel and accessories in Asia. The five-year pan-Asian partnership marks the first time the NBA has had one licensee cover the region. The product will immediately be available selected stores in China and Hong Kong and expand to Japan, Taiwan, India, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Korea during the 2003-04 NBA season.

The Reebok – NBA Asia business will be handled out of the Reebok Asia Pacific Regional office in Hong Kong.
In other marketing news at Reebok, the company has launched an interactive ‘Whodunit?” campaign that features NBA’ers Baron Davis, Steve Francis, Kenyon Martin and Jason Richardson. The campaign will premiere during the BET Awards and feature a fictional crime scene investigation on a darkened basketball court.

Reebok’s ad agencies that developed the “Terry Tate: Office Linebacker” Super Bowl spot were awarded the Gold Lion in the Apparel/Footwear category at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.

The 60-second ad, developed by The Arnell Group and Hypnotic, was selected from over 4,500 submissions.
