Big 5 Sporting Goods is recalling about 227 Columbus folding chairs because they were found to contain a variety of molds that could cause respiratory or other infections in individuals with chronic health problems or impaired immune systems.

The recall involves Basin model Columbus folding camping chairs, identified with style # CC3009-N on a label attached to the side of the seat. They are blue, foam-padded, polyester chairs with a cushioned seat and back. The chairs have adjustable side straps and two additional straps used as handles to carry the chair when folded. “Columbus” appears on the outer side of the back of the seat, above a mesh pocket.

While no injuries have been reported, the company and the Consumer Products Safety Commission advised consumers to immediately stop using them and return them to Big 5 Sporting Goods for a refund.

The chairs were made by Beststar Tourist Products Co. Ltd of China and imported by Rec-Out LLC of Atlanta.
