Rawlings Sporting Goods Company Inc. and Worth Sports, both divisions of K2 Inc., have hired David Zumbach as Vice President of Marketing.
Mr. Zumbach, who will be spearheading the Marketing strategy for both the Rawlings and Worth brands, holds a BS in Marketing from Boston College, where he played three years of Division 1A football. Zumbach also coached football as a graduate assistant for one year at the University of Maine, where he also holds a Masters in Public Administration.
Zumbach has nearly twenty years of experience in the sporting goods industry with companies such as Nike, Reebok and Genesco, Inc. During his thirteen years with Reebok, he held positions of increasing responsibility including: VP of Sales at Rockport; General Manager at Reebok; VP Sports Marketing; and VP US Marketing. Most recently, Zumbach held the positions of President-Nautica Footwear Division and President-Genesco Branded Group at Genesco, Inc.
Robert Parish, President of Rawlings and Worth, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “David is the complete package. He is a seasoned veteran of the sporting goods industry with a comprehensive marketing and sales background. He is close to retail and believes strongly in product innovation. ”
Regarding his new role, Zumbach said, “I am very excited about working with the great people at Rawlings and Worth. We will continue to innovate the hard goods category with leading edge product that grows our business with retail partners.”
Mr. Zumbach began his new position on May 1.
