RAM Racing acquired Gault Race Management in a recent move that not only tripled its capacity to time participants, according to Steve Ginsburg, RAM’s CEO, but also created the largest timing business in the United States.
“RAM Racing isn’t about fun runs. For the last 15 years we have been about people having fun while racing and one of the most critical components of that is timing which we provide through EnMotive, Ram Racing’s suite of technology products,” said Ginsburg.
“As our races continue to grow and become even more popular, we needed to make sure we supplemented our existing technology platform and man-power abilities to accommodate the numbers of people who run our races and measure themselves against the clock. For the last 25 years, the Gaults have been known for their quality timing services and ability to provide the best customer care to races of all sizes,” continued Ginsburg. “Combining the event portfolios and operations for RAM and Gault under one umbrella can only benefit our race partners and our participants.”
Through its EnMotive division, Chicago-based RAM Racing provided professional race timing services to more than 250,000 people in 2015 covering its popular nationwide Hot Chocolate Race Series and another nine races around Chicago. Gault’s roster of 200 races tracked more than 500,000 participants across the country last year from its home base in Flushing, MI.
Gault Founders, Anne and John Gault, will continue to be involved with the implementation of the timing systems for EnMotive. RAM will utilize what’s become known as “The Gault Way,” a complete process that guarantees the highest level of service, quality and integrity. It is defined by the seamless integration of timing and race production, from coordinating participant education to the utilization of state-of-the-art timing technology to ensure accuracy.
“Joining forces with RAM Racing is a win-win for me, John and our company,” Anne Gault said. “RAM shares our vision that quality service is the core component to making all our clients happy – whether we’re talking about the races we work for or the runners to whom we provide accurate timing. Working with RAM allows us to spread our approach even further than we could on our own. “
The addition of Gault Race Management is the second major operational shift for RAM Racing this year. In March the company announced it had taken over Fleet Feet Sports-Chicago’s racing division and their Signature Races (The Soldier Field 10 Mile, The Big Ten 10K, Rudolph Ramble, Run Mag Mile, Pumpkins In The Park and Ravenswood 5K) while divesting itself of its Deerfield Running Away Multisport retail store.
