Quiksilver will offer a free instructional surf camp for active duty military and their families stationed at U.S.
Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The camp, which will take place on October 14 at the remote Windmill Beach on the Southeast coast of Cuba, will be similar to the Quiksilver Surf Camps offered in 14 locations in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada. The participants will receive training in water safety, ocean awareness, and surfing fundamentals as well as a complimentary camp tee-shirt, hat, posters and stickers.

Quiksilver athletes David Awbrey, Skeeter Zimmerman, Matt Kechele along with Roxy athletes Katie Mcleoud and Amy Murphree will be signing autographs at the Navy Exchange/Commissary on Saturday, October14.

This is the third year Quiksilver has offered surf instruction and autograph signings for United States Active Duty service men and women stationed at Guantanamo Bay, a lush, tropical locale with a small number of avid surfers and typically suitable conditions. There are currently
around 7,700 United States residents living in the Guantanamo area. The 45-square-mile plot along the southeast coast of Cuba-surrounded by a ten-foot fence, barbed wire, minefields, and prickly cactus-is on
perpetual lease from the Cuban government as a naval base. Last year's crew reported scoring some really good surf at one of the reef breaks.
