TAXA Outdoors, the leading manufacturer of lightweight, mobile human habitats for outdoor adventure is expanding its collection of habitats with the introduction of new 2020 models. The new Mantis, Cricket, Tiger Moth and Woolly Bear will offer updates and renovations to key interior and exterior features of the units while maintaining their groundbreaking “garageability” and flexible, lightweight design. TAXA is also introducing new, limited edition ‘White Sands’ models for 2020.
Mantis
New 2020 Mantis innovations include a new pop-up roof to increase ventability, the addition of a back ladder to easily access roof storage and a new rear-door hatch to allow for a more open footprint and ventilation throughout the rig.
“We listened to the needs of our customers and fans when designing the new Mantis,” said CEO and founder Garrett Finney. “With more living space for bigger families and a more open-air design intended to better bring the outdoors in, we can’t wait for people to get out and explore in this new model.”
Additional new features include a multi-function seating and dining system that offers space for eating, playing games or working while inside, and can be removed from the rig and used as a dinette table for dining under the stars. Wider bunks allow for more comfortable sleeping, and the addition of attachment points for use with a rooftop tent offers added sleeping space. The 2020 Mantis starts at $46,167 MSRP.
Cricket
Towable by many four-cylinder vehicles, the lightweight and rugged 2020 Cricket takes vehicle-based adventures to the next level. This NASA-inspired human habitat comfortably fits two adults and two kids, and features an integrated plumbing and electrical systems for more comfortable off-grid trips. With a new exterior design for 2020, the Cricket starts at $34,317 MSRP.
Tiger Moth
Coming in at a dry weight of 1,359 pounds, the 2020 Tiger Moth comes equipped with a built-in electrical system, LED lights, 12V outlets, water system and optional solar panels. Towable by many four-cylinder vehicles, the lightweight and rugged Tiger Moth is ready for long road trips and adventures. With innovative doors and a large side hatch, the Tiger Moth has incomparable ventilation and views starting at $18,000 MSRP.
Woolly Bear
The Woolly Bear is the basecamp for any adventure. Featuring a full-size outdoor kitchen, storage systems, pull-out area for coolers and an elevated platform that accommodates most two or three-person tents, TAXA’s lightest human habitat transforms any location into the perfect backroad campsite, starting at $9,200 MSRP.
Additionally, for 2020, TAXA is releasing ‘White Sands’ models of the Mantis, Cricket, Tiger Moth and Woolly Bear. With only thirty of these specifical-edition models made, the White Sands features a white exterior, sun yellow tent and special brown cushions on the interior, each unit is signed by TAXA creator Garrett Finney.
