Big City Mountaineers, a leading provider of wilderness experiences for under resourced youth, has announced Thermacell as its 2019 Corporate Partner of the Year. Headquartered outside of Boston, Thermacell manufactures the world’s most effective mosquito repellents and other insect control products. Over the past four years, Thermacell has been instrumental in the establishment of BCM’s New England Program, which launched in 2016.

“It has been amazing to work with Thermacell over the years and get to know the staff and leadership of the company,” said BCM’s Executive Director, Bryan Martin. “They are supporting Big City Mountaineers in every way a corporate partner can, including employee involvement in BCM adventures, gifts of product, raising awareness of what we do, and leadership-level philanthropy.  We are sincerely grateful for their support.”

In 2019, Thermacell employees served as volunteer leaders on BCM’s New England camps and hikes and organized a company-wide fundraiser. The fundraiser, which raised over $26,000, brought Thermacell’s donations to BCM over the past three years to $77,000.  In addition, Thermacell donated mosquito repellers and refills to BCM’s Boundary Waters Basecamp and added a “Donate to BCM” button on their website to encourage customer donations at checkout.

“We believe early exposure to the great outdoors can be truly transformational. We are proud to support BCM in their mission to provide these experiences to youth across America,” said Steve Hill, Thermacell’s President and CEO.
