Polar Partners with MyFitnessPal

Polar, the maker of heart rate sensors, training apps, wearable sports devices and activity trackers, has partnered with MyFitnessPal, a free resource helping people improve their health. By linking Polar Flow and MyFitnessPal accounts, users can easily view their nutrition together with activity and training details.

Polar Flow web service and app provide a comprehensive wellness and fitness experience with the chance to plan workouts in an online diary and follow long term progress. The users of Polar Flow app for iOS can now connect with MyFitnessPal and have their training and daily activity details automatically sent to MyFitnessPal Exercise Diary.

With nutrition and fitness data in one place, users can easily see how their daily activity influences both their calorie budget and overarching health goals. MyFitnessPal's software allows easy tracking of daily nutrition and calorie intake. You simply input all foods consumed during the day, and MyFitnessPal calculates the calories and nutrition data. Following eating habits with MyFitnessPal is a great way to manage weight, and the MyFitnessPal community of more than 75 million users has collectively lost over 180 million pounds.

Tracking nutrition, daily activity and training will let the user know if they need to eat or exercise to reach their daily calorie budget. Anyone with a Polar Flow compatible device on their wrist can take advantage of this smart integration. These include the Polar Loop activity tracker and Polar A300, M400 and V800 watches and wrist units – all of which come with accurate calorie counting that ensures every move from training and daily activity is counted.

Marco Suvilaakso, product director at Polar said: “We're excited to join forces with MyFitnessPal to bring our users a new dimension of valuable insight for weight management and healthier living.  We are dedicated to helping our users achieve their health, fitness and performance goals and connecting with MyFitnessPal is a natural fit.”

Albert Lee, chief product officer at MyFitnessPal said: “Our aim is in building tools that will drive user success. We're all about helping you live a healthier life, and it is wonderful to see Polar shares our ambition. We build tools to help people make smarter choices, changing their behavior and creating healthier habits.”
