Play Ball USA, the non-profit organization promoting youth recreational baseball/softball programs, will hold its annual meeting June 10 at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas. The Sunday date – one day prior to the opening of SGMA’s new “Spring Market” trade show in the same location – was chosen to maximize attendees’ free time with their work time in The City That Never Sleeps.

On that Monday (June 11), Play Ball USA will hold a silent auction of sports memorabilia at the group’s booth on the trade show floor. Approximately 50 items will be displayed for the auction, which will begin at 10 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. Las Vegas time. The proceeds of the auction will go toward funding baseball/softball equipment to new start-up programs around the country.

At the Play Ball USA annual meeting, board members will be elected to serve during the year beginning Oct. 1. Members also will report on 2007 program activities, which are expected to include about 20 new community programs around the country. Additionally, a three-year business plan will be developed and 2008 budgets approved.
