Petzl America has promoted Nazz Kurth to sales director, and Tom Adams to sport division manager. Nazz has worked at Petzl as the headlamp division manager since 2006, and officially stepped into his new role as of March 17th, 2008, and Tom has moved up from his previous role as assistant sport manager, effective immediately.

Prior to joining Petzl, Nazz was the Senior Client Development Manager with Euromonitor International, a leading international market intelligence provider, managing strategic sales and business development.  His professional background also includes sales and marketing in the medical equipment industry. Nazz’s personal passion for the outdoors has kept him climbing since the 1980’s, including several years as a climbing guide and wilderness program director.

“During his two year tenure as Headlamp Division Manager, Nazz has done an exemplary job developing sales strategies and creating great sales tools for our reps,” said Roody Rasmussen, President of Petzl America.  “Nazz’s experience in sales and as a leader makes this a natural progression for his career, and a very positive step for Petzl America.

Tom Adams brings over 18 years of outdoor industry experience to his new role, and first-hand insight to the Sport Division as a high level climber.

“In the time that Tom has been with Petzl as Assistant Sport Manager, he has demonstrated an outstanding work ethic, and his intimate understanding of the climbing and outdoor industry has provided a seamless transition into his work here at Petzl,” said Rasmussen.  “We are confident that Tom will do an excellent job taking over the reins of the Sport Division and will work in close partnership with our outside sales reps and our in-house Customer Service and Sales Department to ensure a smooth transition for our sales team and our retail partners as well.”
