Peloton, a socially connected fitness bike, inked a partnership with yoga instructor Colleen Saidman Yee to stream yoga content to Peloton users.
These sessions, taught by Yee, will be included in Peloton’s Beyond the Ride category. Peloton believes their addition will enhance the at-home fitness experience.
Peloton consumers currently have access to live and on-demand cycling classes taught by some of the best instructors in the world.
“Peloton is thrilled to collaborate with Colleen Saidman Yee, dubbed the ‘First Lady of Yoga,’ to launch this new video content to our members,” said John Foley, co-founder and CEO, Peloton. “Colleen’s values and philosophies are closely aligned with that of our company. We are collectively passionate about fitness as a motivating and empowering experience for all.”
“Peloton has re-energized the concept of at-home fitness and brought together an avid, engaged community of riders,” said Yee. “I’m excited to teach yoga to Peloton’s extensive member community nationwide and ultimately help people better connect with their bodies.”
Yee has been featured in Vanity Fair, Oprah, New York magazine, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Allure, Yoga Journal and others.
Peloton launched Beyond the Ride in 2015 as a way for members to complement their on-bike workouts with exercise and stretching routines targeted to all areas of the body. The new yoga series includes a range of practices from beginner to advanced levels, and is meant to both accompany the bike workouts and offer standalone routines for Peloton’s home bike owners and app users.
