Overland Equipment has named Tim McGuire as its new general manager. McGuire has a 22 year history in the bag and luggage business. Overland has been making personal bags since 1981 and now offers a range of backpacks, purses, shoulder bags, laptop bags and wallets designed to help organize personal belongings.

He comes to Overland Equipment with more than two decades of experience, getting his start at the well-known retailer, A16, as the adventure travel director. McGuire then worked with Eagle Creek, Eastpak and JanSport, where he served as vice president of sales, marketing and product development.

McGuire continued honing his strategic thinking skills to create a culture of success as the global business director within the accessories division of Nike. For the past year and a half, he was general manager of the Outdoor/Adventure Travel division at Briggs & Riley Travelware where he helped them to expand within the outdoor industry.

I am excited to be joining Overland Equipment, a brand respected throughout the industry for its superb quality, McGuire says. I plan to stay true to the Overland Equipment roots and focus on the specialty retailer while continuing to build a great product with an eye on longer term strategy for growth.
