Outside Television and Red Bull Media House announced a major expansion of their ongoing programming partnership that will see Red Bull Media House provide five more original series beginning over the next several weeks.

Financial terms were not disclosed, and the new agreement expands upon a prior partnership begun in June 2012. The agreement was brokered between Jonathan Stern, Director of Business Development and Partnerships for Red Bull Media House North America, and Rob Faris, Senior Vice President of Programming and Production, for Outside Television.

The combination of Red Bull Media House and Outside creates huge synergies for both of these active lifestyle brands, our related media activities, and our ongoing opportunities to create some of the most exciting adventure programming on the entire planet,” Outside’s Mr. Faris said. “We’re excited to keep this thing going and get busy with the next wave of expansion to this successful partnership.”

Since its initial collaboration with Red Bull Media House, Outside Television has expanded rapidly to now become available in more than 30 million U.S. cable homes. As Red Bull was coming aboard, America’s largest cable and broadband provider Comcast Xfinity was launching Outside Television nationwide, and over the past several weeks, America’s third-largest cable operator Cox Communications has begun a major national expansion of its own.

Red Bull Media House has become a cornerstone program supplier for Outside Television, bringing the new independent channel four exclusive original series and several primetime features to anchor the weekly “Outside Film Festival.” The pair are now returning with entirely new seasons of two exclusive originals, adding three new programs, and then expanding their genres into documentary production surrounding the first anniversary of Felix Baumgartner’s Red Bull Stratos leap from space in which the Austrian daredevil became the world’s first human to break the sound barrier with his own body.

Here are the five exclusive original series coming to Outside Television from Red Bull Media House over the next several weeks.

  • “The Art of Flight TV Series,” based on the popular adventure film of the same name, is a new exclusive weekly half-hour series that will anchor Outside Television’s Friday night slate at 8 p.m. beginning November 8. “The Art of Flight,” one of the most spectacular action-sports films in recent years, has now come to weekly television with a seven-part series featuring the awesome descents and acrobatic trick jumps of Travis Rice and his pro crew. The series follows the behind-the-scenes dramatic stories, dangerous moments and setbacks as they journey together to the far ends of the world where nature’s most challenging elements hold sway.
  • “Where the Trail Ends TV Series,” another exclusive half-hour original series based upon the popular adventure feature, joins “The Art of Flight” as a weekly companion piece at 8:30 p.m. Friday nights, beginning Nov. 8. The six-episode series follows the world’s top freeride mountain bikers Darren Berrecloth, Cameron Zink, Kurtis Sorge, James Doerfling, and Andreu Lacondeguy and documents their individual and collective experiences as they search for unridden terrain around the globe, ultimately shaping the future of big mountain freeriding.
  • “Xtreme CollXtion,” is an exclusive half-hour anthology series to anchor Outside Television’s Saturday night primetime schedule, beginning Saturday, Nov. 9. “The Xtreme CollXtion” is a weekly magazine program uniting the very best action and extreme sports from around the planet. • “Ultimate Rush 2,” one of Red Bull Media House’s returning originals, joins “Xtreme CollXtion” as an 8:30 p.m. companion two weeks later on Saturday, Nov. 23. Pulitzer Prize-winning nominee Stephen Schiff joins forces with some of the planet’s most amazing extreme sports cinematographers to ask the ultimate questions, including why do each of these world-leading athletes do what they do.
  • “eXplorers – Adventures of the Century,” another ongoing Outside hit from Red Bull Media House, “eXplorers” returns for its second season in January 2014. “eXplorers – Adventures of the Century” profiles a dozen extraordinary people – both men and women – in their quest for the ultimate adventure, such as mountaineer and apnea diver Annelie Pompe attempting to become the first person ever to achieve the highest peak of Mount Everest and the deepest dive on Earth.

Outside and Red Bull Media House have extended their partnership into the documentary space with three more features including a new documentary featuring Felix Baumgartner and experts from the mission team like aerospace legend Joe Kittinger, who reflect on the trans-international logistics, trials and ultimate vindication that went into the epic Red Bull Stratos project.

  • “Mission to the Edge of Space: The Inside Story of Red Bull Stratos,”premieres on Outside Television in late January 2014. New exclusive behind-the-scenes footage reveals previously undisclosed challenges including a heat-resistance problem with Baumgartner’s faceplate that nearly scrubbed the mission, while members of the team look back on other challenges they were forced to overcome. “Mission to the Edge of Space” offers more detail and context to the more than 8 million originally captivated by the Oct. 14, 2012 event, as well as others who may have missed it.
  • “The Felix Baumgartner Story,” another documentary still to be scheduled, follows the record breaking B.A.S.E. jumper conquering his many other past challenges. Whether the Jesus sculpture high above Rio de Janeiro's or the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur or France's Millau viaduct, Felix Baumgartner has jumped from them all. This visual documentary features his most spectacular exploits, complemented by input from friends and travel companions, as well as Baumgartner’s own thought in creating a full portrait of the legendary base jumper.
  • “Felix Baumgartner: The Cave,” another new documentary still to be schedule, features Baumgartner’s successful B.A.S.E. jump into the perilous Mamet Cave in Croatia’s Velebit National Park.
