Omni Retail Enterprises has named Steve Marada head of product development and merchandising for Bodybuilding.com. Marada will reportedly manage the site’s rebuild.

“Omni Retail Enterprises is positioning itself to build an impressive reputation within the industry, and I’m honored to contribute to the legacy of Bodybuilding.com,” said Marada. “The opportunity to be part of such an iconic brand, revered by a dedicated community of fitness lifestyle followers, is incredibly inspiring. I am excited to join in the brand’s rich heritage and unwavering dedication to its community. Together, we aim to reignite the passion and commitment to making Bodybuilding.com the beacon in the fitness world.”

Omni Retail Enterprises operates a portfolio of digital lifestyle storefronts and communities covering home decor, apparel, health and wellness products, fitness, and educational programs. It is the parent company of Bodybuilding.com, Pier 1.com, DressBarn.com, and Mentorbox.com and owns the intellectual property of Modell’s Sporting Goods, Franklin Mint, SteinMart, Linens-N-Things, and Ralph & Russo.

“Steve has a history of leading and executing strategic business plans that create and refresh health & wellness brands, which is exactly what Bodybuilding.com needs,” said Omni Retail Enterprises CEO Sharon Leite. “Steve’s lifelong experience in this sector has uniquely equipped him with the necessary vision and expertise needed to bring the brand back to its rightful potential.”

Marada served as divisional vice president of private brands at The Vitamin Shoppe and had a similar position at Nature’s Answer. He reportedly had broad experience with brand building, innovation, storytelling, marketing, sales, commercialization and manufacturing in both roles.

Marada also held executive roles at Insight Nutrition, MHP (Maximum Human Performance and Genceutic Naturals). Marada earned a BS in Dietetics Food and Nutrition from Montclair State University.

“I’ve had the opportunity to watch him in action while on my team at The Vitamin Shoppe, and he clearly demonstrated his expertise in building innovative and high-quality products for consumers,” Leite continued. “His deep roots in manufacturing and commercialization will also deliver significant value, and I couldn’t be more excited to have Steve at the helm of Bodybuilding.com at this critical time in our company’s history.”
