The Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition will host outdoor industry women at the Wasatch Mountain Club Lodge for relaxation, rest, revival and networking. The retreat will take place August 14-16, 2005, and will begin immediately after the close of the Outdoor Retailer show. Industry women will have the chance to hike with a local herbalist, fly fish or rock climbing with instructors, or just do nothing at all. There will be massage therapists and pedicurists on hand, and yoga classes in the morning and afternoons. Pollyanna Pixton of Evolutionary Systems will be the featured speaker for the Monday evening Fireside Program. Pixton will talk about Collaborative Leadership models for women in the workplace, and will facilitate a group discussion. Pixton owns a consulting company, is involved with the Utah Women's Leadership Network, and has recently co-founded the Institute for Collaborative Leadership.

This summer, OIWC has added additional professional development sessions for ChillFest 2005. Strozzi Institute Associates Jennifer Van Homer and Jean Dunham will conduct Sunday evening’s opening exercises, and on Monday, they'll offer two outdoor sessions introducing participants to practices that will help them learn to be present and relaxed at work and in their outdoor pursuits.

“ChillFest is an ideal way to rid your body and soul of tradeshow toxins while connecting with old friends and making new ones,” said Maile Buker, OIWC Executive Board member and event organizer. “It’s also a time to indulge in your own silent sanctuary in the woods, read a book, and just chill.”

ChillFest will take place at the Wasatch Mountain Club Lodge, located in Big Cottonwood Canyon, about 30 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City. ChillFest participants sleep in tents under the stars or indoors in one of two lodges. They dine on catered meals and always leave with a schwag bag bursting at the seams. There are only 45 spaces are available, and registration is now open. First come, first to chill! Registration is $85 for OIWC members, $100 for non-members, and includes two nights lodging, all meals, evening program, yoga, herbology hike, fly fishing casting clinic, and goodie bag. To register, go to www.oiwc.org. For more information on Pollyanna Pixton, visit www.icollaborativeleadership.com.
