Applications for the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) 2017 Skip Yowell Future Leadership Academy are now being accepted.
22 outstanding individuals are completing the first year of the immersive program. Read how they have learned from industry leaders and worked together to prepare for industry challenges today and in the future.
This year, the program is accepting 30 individuals – OIA is looking for the best and brightest talent in the outdoor industry who meet the following requirements:
- Director level and below
- Minimum of three years in some sector of the outdoor industry
- Leadership potential, strategic thinking and a commitment to the outdoor industry
- Currently employed at an OIA member company
Participants will receive personal and professional development opportunities that include education about important outdoor industry issues, leadership training and mentoring from industry veterans.
The participating employee will experience:
- Mentoring from key outdoor industry founders and executives
- Leadership training and guidance for strategic decision making
- Community building and peer learning with emerging leaders in the industry
- Community-based approach to education that encourages learning and adoption
- A cross-disciplined outdoor industry education
