Oboz Footwear, an outdoor footwear company headquartered in Bozeman, Montana, hired Dawson Westenskow as its product line manager. As part of the five-person product creation team, Westenskow will help establish the company’s vision, strategies and seasonal and long-term product concepts.

Westenskow is an experienced product line manager with a passion for commercializing innovative consumer products. He has a background in a variety of industries directing the complete development process for both hard and soft goods, creating forward-looking strategies and product lines that drive growth at retail.

Since August 2015, Westenskow was responsible for REI’s Camp Gear and Travel Gear categories, where he developed the first multi-year strategic product plan. Prior to REI, he worked with the Thule Groups Bags Divisions in Niwot, CO, as its global category manager for Mobile Handheld Devices, where he managed the complete product lifecycle for the smartphone and laptop case categories.

During his time at Thule, Westenskow helped place product with major retailers, including Apple, REI and other major retailers. Westenskow also has experience in the tools industry with Hilti Corporation, where he managed its flagship product portfolio of Corded Drilling and Demolition Tools and was involved in strategic sales planning and product launch sales training.

Westenskow has an MBA in Global Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and earned his BA in International Studies and Spanish Language and Culture from Utah State University.

“We’re very excited to welcome Dawson to our team,” said John Connelly, founder and president of Oboz. “As Oboz continues to grow, his breadth of experience and insight from several industries will bolster our long-range planning and execution on new footwear products.”
