Farm to Feet will be the title sponsor of the inaugural Blue Ridge Double Marathon. The sponsorship is in addition to Farm to Feet’s continuing sponsorship of the Blue Ridge Marathon as the official sock. Both events will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 in Roanoke, VA, along with a marathon relay, half marathon, 10K and 1 miler for children.

“The Blue Ridge Marathon is a challenging course and to complete it twice is an amazing feat,” said David Petri, Farm to Feet marketing director.

The race course starts in downtown Roanoke and climbs to the top of Mill and Roanoke Mountains. Following sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway, the course has a total elevation change of 7,430 feet and is considered America’s toughest road marathon. Competitors running in the double event will complete the course twice.

Double marathon runners will start their race at 1 a.m. if they plan to finish their first lap in around six hours. Competitors who plan to finish in less than five hours will start at 2:30 a.m. All of the racers must complete their first lap by 7:35 a.m. to start with all the other runners in the full marathon event.
