Frank Dassler, the grandson of Puma founder Rudolf Dassler, has passed away at the age of 64.
Frank Dassler was born on June 14, 1956 in Nuremberg as the son of the founding family of Adidas and Puma. For decades, he was a highly respected and committed leader of the sporting goods industry and was also involved in the development of the industry associations. As president of the WFSGI from 2014 to 2017, he followed in the footsteps of his father Armin, who was one of the founding members and also president of the WFSGI from 1986 to 1989.
Dassler was Managing Director of the Puma subsidiary in the USA from 1985 to 1987. In 1989 he founded his own law firm, the Anwaltskanzlei Dassler, which still exists today. From 2004 to 2018, he held the position of group general counsel at Adidas before he left the group in 2018 as the last representative of the Dassler founding family to retire.
Frank Dassler leaves behind his wife Sabine and his son Christopher.
