Ake Nordin, the founder of the Swedish outdoor brand Fjällräven and its parent company Fenix Outdoors, has died, according to a statement released by Fenix Outdoor Group.

Fenix Outdoor Group, which also owns the Brunton and Primus brands, said its operations would not be affected because Nordin had relinquished all management responsibilities at the company’s last annual shareholders’ meeting.

Nordin is primarily known as Fjällräven's founder and the designer of a number of its products such as its Expedition Tent, Expedition Jacket, Greenland Jacket, Fjällräven jacket, Telemark jacket, popout tent and the Kanken rucksack.

Fjällräven has made a big push in the United States since Fenix Outdoor acquired its U.S. distributor in 2012. It is Fenix Outdoor's fastest growing brand.
