The Oberalp Group, which owns Salewa, Dynafit, Pomoca, Wild Country and Evolv, has hired Phil Hoffman as sales manager, appointed Mike Sohasky as key account sales manager, and promoted Steve Goddard, Michael Casarrubia, and Eric Poore to new roles within the company.

Hoffman joins the Oberalp Group from Boone, NC. Hoffman has been working in the vertical market on the sport and rope access space for the better part of 20 years and has held positions as sales manager for Misty Mountain Threadworks, NSP sales manager for the Vertical Supply Group, owner and operator of a specialty outdoor retail store, Looking Glass Outfitters, and sales rep for Top Gun sales where he represented Oberalp brands, including Evolv, Wild Country and Salewa. Hoffman will serve as a sales manager for two of the Oberalp Group’s brands – Wild Country and Evolv.

“Jumping back into the sport space with the Oberalp group, a dynamic leader in the market, was a humbling opportunity,” said Hoffman. “The task to help lead the Evolv and Wild Country Sales Team will present many unique challenges and opportunities. With the team that has been assembled we are equipped to take both premium brands to the next level and beyond.”

Goddard will be assuming the title of specialty sales manager, Casarrubia will assume the role of community marketing manager, and Eric Poore will assume the role of territory manager. These new promotions allow Oberalp to expand and create an in-depth sales and management team for all brands under the Oberalp umbrella.

“It’s exciting to build up our team to support our long-term goals. As a family owned group we put a huge emphasis on the people behind the brands,” said Ross Herr, director of sales and marketing. “This new management team is aligned and eager to drive our business with the most relevant group of mountain brands.”

Mike Sohasky, who is based in Boulder, CO, joins Oberalp as the key account sales manager with over 15 years of sales management experience that is primarily focused in the cycling industry. Sohasky represented Cannondale, GT, Schwinn and Mongoose during a nine-year tenure at Pacific Cycle where he held a variety of sales management positions where he was specifically tasked with key account management.

“I’m beyond excited to join the Oberalp Group as key account sales manager for all brands supporting our organizations largest customers,” Sohasky said. “Having personal experience as a customer for many years prior to joining the team, I recognize the huge momentum all our brands have in North America at this time and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of that growth.”

The Oberalp Group is a family-owned business based in Bolzano, Italy, that employs almost 700 people worldwide. Since 2007, Oberalp has had a North American subsidiary based in Boulder, CO.
