The National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA) announced a new master membership agreement with Team Equipment and Apparel Manufacturers Supply (TEAMS), a buying group consisting of 23 team dealers spread across 10 states east of the Mississippi River.

Joining longstanding members Athletic Dealers of America (ADA) and Team Athletic Goods (TAG), TEAMS is welcomed to this elite community of buying groups who recognize the mutual benefit of supporting their industry association through a master membership.

NSGA President & CEO Matt Carlson said, “TEAMS’ leadership recognizes the value of membership in NSGA, and we are excited to welcome each of their members to the association. NSGA’s philosophy is to collaborate with entities where there can be mutual benefit, and this master membership agreement with a growing buying group fits squarely within that philosophy.”

TEAMS was originally established in 2005 by eight sporting goods dealers from Kentucky, West Virginia and Virginia, and has more than doubled since, to include 23 members. The group’s shows attract over 70 vendors, and are held the second week of July and the second week of November annually.

“TEAMS has grown to the point that we felt it was time to establish our buying group as a major player in the sporting goods industry.” said TEAMS President, Gary Sewell (Sports Den, Somerset, KY and original member).  “We also want to support our dealer members by providing them with more industry information and tools they can use to make their businesses more successful.  By signing a Master Membership Agreement with the NSGA, TEAMS is fulfilling both objectives.”
