Outdoor Research will provide uniforms starting in the fall for all winter and summer staff at western Wyoming’s Grand Targhee Resort.

Ski patrollers, ski instructors, snowcat guides, as well as staff in administration, lift operations and lodging, will all use Outdoor Research apparel, gloves and headwear as part of their Targhee uniform. In summer, operations staff leading hiking and mountain biking outings, along with on-site naturalists, will also use OR apparel.

Part of the appeal of working with a brand like Outdoor Research, given the wide range of activities summer and winter at Grand Targhee, was the breadth of its product line, said Ken Rider, director of marketing and sales at Grand Targhee Resort.

“Outdoor Research has really been growing its Sidecountry Collection in recent years, so that certainly made the brand appealing from the skiing side of things, but it also has the whole range of apparel and accessories for summer activities, and that’s a great match given the wide array of activities we offer here at Grand Targhee,” Rider said. “And, having a comprehensive uniform where you have your whole staff in one brand makes a lot of sense, especially when you’re dealing with two brands like these that are such a good match for each other.”

Rider said the collaboration will go beyond simply having staff in Outdoor Research gear. There will be a retail component, so that visitors at Targhee will be able to buy the Outdoor Research products they see staff using. As well, Targhee and Outdoor Research plan to collaborate on marketing initiatives with co-branded promotions.

Outdoor Research Director of Sales Dave Mahoney said Outdoor Research is proud to add Grand Targhee to the roster of North American resorts using Outdoor Research apparel for their uniform needs. OR has similar partnerships with Mt. Bachelor Resort in Oregon and Snoqualmie Pass Resort in Washington.

“Grand Targhee offers high-quality skiing in one of the most beautiful settings, which aligns perfectly with Outdoor Research’s commitment to build innovative product with beautiful aesthetics,” Mahoney said. “Grand Targhee offers an unbelievable area to test product and to further push the boundaries on what the Sidecountry product line represents to both Outdoor Research and Grand Targhee.”
