The application period for the 3rd Annual NSGA College Scholarship Program kicked off Monday, Nov. 4 and will run until Jan. 17, 2014. The program was created in 2011 as a way to establish the sporting goods industry as a preferred employment destination for current or former employees of NSGA member retailers and team dealers.
In its first two years, the program provided 18 scholarships to students from across the country, all of whom were employed in a store or corporate office of several NSGA member companies.
NSGA President & CEO Matt Carlson said, “The NSGA College Scholarship Program has been a tremendous success in its first two years, and we are excited about the opportunities this program provides to enhance the engagement these college students have with our members in the sporting goods industry. The College Scholarship Program helps to attract and retain high-level candidates to our industry.”
Employers are encouraged to visit the Marketing Toolkit NSGA created which contains tools that will aid in marketing the program to college-student and high school senior employees. On that page, companies can download an employee break room flyer and email template, view frequently asked questions and learn more about the past College Scholarship recipients and their employers.
Students are encouraged to view application requirements, download an application form, or apply online at www.nsga.org/collegescholarship before Jan. 17, 2014. Scholarship recipients will be notified in the Spring of 2014.
