Nike Inc. said that on March 20, the Nike SNKRS app will become available in Japan, offering NikePlus members there increased access to covetable sneakers, as well as content that celebrates local sneaker culture and highlights personalized services and experiences.
“Japan has a special place in sneaker culture, and launching the SNKRS app there will both fuel and serve that,” said Ron Faris, Nike’s GM of SNKRS. “We’ve pioneered some unique digital experiences within the app that evolve the sneaker game and we’re excited to bring those to the community in Japan.”
Those features include SNKRS Stash, a geo-located “treasure hunt,” and randomized draws or opportunities to purchase other limited-release sneakers. Highlighted product in the market at launch includes the Air Vapormax 97, Air Max 1/97 Wotherspoon and Air Max 270.
The SNKRS app is available on iOS and Android and now serves 21 countries in 15 languages.
