Nike Inc. spent $60,000 in the third quarter to lobby on trade, physical education and other business matters, according to a disclosure report.

According to the Associated Press, that's down from the $120,000 it spent in the same period last year and equal to what it spent in the second quarter this year.

Nike also lobbied on issues in support of equal access to athletics for students with disabilities and issues surrounding patent and trademark rules. Besides Congress, the athletic shoe and clothing company lobbied the U.S. Trade Representative, the Department of Health and Human Services and others during the July through September period, according to the report Nike filed with the House clerk's office.
