Sonics forward Kevin Durant signed an endoresment contract with Nike,
apparently spurning a higher offer from adidas. According to the
Seattle Times, the seven-year, $60 million deal with Nike included a
$10 million signing bonus.
Citing industry sources, the newspaper said Durant, the number two pick in the NBA draft, declined a seven-year, $70
million deal with Adidas that included a $12 million signing bonus
largely because he has a long history with Nike dating to the eighth
grade in Washington, D.C.
Nike also signed the number one pick, the Portland Trailblazers Greg Oden.
