Nike opened its latest small-format Nike Live store in Eugene, OR. Nike by Eugene joins three other Nike Live concepts in Los Angeles, Tokyo and New York.

The Oregon store will reflect the retailer’s history in Eugene through the store design. The store will have a Eugene run map customers can pick up that points out sites important to Nike and images of athletes with ties to Eugene.

As with other Nike Live locations, the location features digitally-enabled offerings to support Nike members, many supporting rewards. A digital vending machine, the “Unlock Box,” lets members redeem free products and gifts. Customers are also able to text store employees about product availability, recommendations and current offerings.

The store will also feature BOPIS and curbside pickup. New assortments will drop every three weeks, and a selection of University of Oregon merchandise will be on offer. The main welcome area will serve as a meeting place for running groups and other athletes to meet “when it’s safe to do so,” Nike said in an e-mail. A Trial Zone for runners to test footwear and bra fittings is also offered. New arrivals and employee picks will be featured at the front of the store, and the store will build relationships with local organizations that encourage kids to be active.

The retailer said over the summer that it had plans for up to 200 small-format stores like Nike Live.
