Nike announced that it appointed Jennifer Hartley, a 14-year company veteran, as chief strategy officer. Hartley also joins Nike’s Executive Leadership Team.
According to an internal memo, CFO Matt Friend said that Hartley will work to “develop, drive and deliver Nike’s strategic agenda.” Hartley begins her new role this week.
Hartley was most recently VP, Strategic Enterprise Capabilities, a role she held since March 2024. Prior, she was VP North America Marketplace Finance. Hartley began her Nike career as director, Corporate Strategy & Development. Before Nike, she was at McKinsey & Co. and Arthur Andersen LLP.
The news follows that Nike’s former chief strategy and transformation officer, Daniel Heaf, left the company earlier this year after the company eliminated his position and integrated the employees under his direction into the finance department.
Hartley has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tex, Austin.
