The National Hockey League (NHL) registered record-setting merchandise sales at both the NHL Powered by Reebok Store and at Shop.NHL.com over the 2009 Thanksgiving weekend. On Black Friday and through the holiday weekend, the NHL Powered by Reebok Store in New York City saw a 34% increase in sales over last year's figures while Shop.NHL.com enjoyed its highest-grossing sales day ever on Cyber Monday.

With the 2010 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic coming to Fenway Park on New Years Day, the event's merchandise is setting new sales records both in-store and online. The NHL Winter Classic jerseys from the Boston Bruins® and Philadelphia Flyers were the top-selling NHL Winter Classic items over the holiday weekend. The Reebok Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers 2010 Winter Classic Official Center Ice Reversible Player Knit Hats were the second most popular NHL Winter Classic items through Cyber Monday.

This year, NHL Powered by Reebok recorded its largest Black Friday sales figures in the three year history of the New York City store with a 28% increase in sales compared to 2008. NHL Powered by Reebok was the highest volume store throughout the Reebok chain for the week, beating out all other North American stores. The record-setting Thanksgiving weekend generated additional momentum in sales figures for the store. For the full month of November, sales were up 32% in 2009 and overall store sales this year (Jan. — Nov. 2009) have increased 12% from 2008.

Through the holiday weekend, cap sales at NHL Powered by Reebok were up 91% from 2008, with the Reebok Second Season Center Ice Player Cap (available for all 30 teams) being the most popular item. T-shirt sales recorded an 88% increase. Jerseys were up 37% compared to the same weekend in 2008.

This Cyber Monday, Shop.NHL.Com set new records of its own as it was the site's highest grossing sales day ever with a remarkable 108% sales increase from 2008. Average orders at Shop.NHL.com were up 22% over last year and 38% over the site's Average Order Value this year. Jerseys remained the most popular items, accounting for approximately 68% of Cyber Monday sales at Shop.NHL.Com. The online NHL shopping destination also registered a 13% conversion rate increase.

Following its Thanksgiving weekend success, the overall popularity of the official 2010 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic apparel and memorabilia is expected to continue through New Year's Day. Reebok and Twins 47 full line of apparel and headwear, all in the look and feel of the vintage jerseys being worn on-ice by the Bruins and Flyers on New Year's Day, have become a favorite for collectors and fans attending the game or viewing at home.
