New Balance is teaming up with select Bareburger locations
throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens to celebrate runners flocking
to the city. For a limited time only, Bareburger will offer a special
Balance Burger which is loaded with nutrient packed ingredients to
satisfy any runner or spectator. Complimentary burger cards will be
handed out at all New Balance-branded initiatives.
New Balance will also unveil a Fresh Foam Zante NYC shoe truck to celebrate the launch of a limited edition Fresh Foam Zante NYC. Located in the
heart of midtown Manhattan, people on the street will be encouraged to trade in the
shoes on their feet for the Fresh Foam Zante NYC, while graffiti
artists actively paint the truck, transforming it into a live piece of
art. All shoes collected at the Fresh Foam Zante shoe truck will be
donated to a local NY charity. The Fresh Foam Zante shoe truck will be
located on 52nd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues on Friday, October
31st from 8AM until 5PM.
The limited edition Fresh Foam Zante NYC will debut on Oct. 21. New Balance will use the slogans Run NYC, Fast Town. Smooth Ride. and Run Smooth. Run NYC. across retail, digital and consumer engagement efforts to encourage residents and visitors running in the Big Apple in 2014.
The limited edition style will be the first opportunity for runners to get their feet into the latest Fresh Foam edition with in-line color ways launching in March 2015. The bold, flame colored accents call attention to the grey coloring of the upper which draws inspiration from the concrete streets runners flock to in New York to log miles. With discovery elements such as the famous NY Skyline on the sock liner and the NY State Motto, Excelsior, on the tip of the shoe lace, the Fresh Foam Zante NYC brings the streets of New York to life in a limited edition performance running shoe.
Applying the same software aided design process as the Fresh Foam Road and Trail, the New Balance design team took Fresh Foam Zante to the next level by studying foot strike and impact tendencies of runners, while running at a slightly faster pace. Engineered on a new, more form fitting last Fresh Foam Zante aims to provide runners with a more aggressive toe spring while bringing them slightly lower to the ground compared to its Fresh Foam Road and Trail counterparts. A bootie construction delivers a smooth, sleek wrap on the foot with no-sew overlays and a breathable air mesh to complete the clean, technical upper design.
The Limited Edition Fresh Foam Zante NYC will be available at the New Balance Experience Store located at 150 Fifth Avenue at 20th Street, Paragon Sports in Union Square, select specialty retailers in the US, the New Balance booth at the ING NYC Marathon Health & Fitness Expo located in the Jacob Javits Center and NewBalance.com with the suggested retail price of $115.
The New Balance booth at the TCS NYC Marathon Health & Fitness Expo will feature graphics taken from iconic New York locations with footwear and apparel from the Fall 2014 New Balance performance running collection.
