Neiman Marcus September sales increased 8.6% to $466 million compared
to $430 million for the same month last year. Comparable store sales
increased 6.0% for the month.

In
the five-week September period, comparable revenues in the Specialty
Retail Stores segment, which includes Neiman Marcus Stores and Bergdorf
Goodman, increased 6.0 percent. Revenue growth trends were the
strongest in the Company’s stores in the Southeast and Midwest. The
merchandise categories in the Specialty Retail Stores segment that
performed the strongest included jewelry, designer handbags, shoes,
beauty and women’s fine apparel.

Comparable revenues at Neiman
Marcus Direct in the five-week September period increased 5.7 percent.
The top selling merchandise categories in the Direct Marketing segment
included designer shoes and handbags, jewelry, women’s contemporary
sportswear and men’s furnishings.
