New England Footwear, maker of GoLite Footwear, will receive funding as part of the Green Launching Pad, a joint venture between the state of New Hampshire and the University of New Hampshire designed to help bring new green technologies to market and create green jobs in the state.

The company will use the funding to establish shoe manufacturing capacities in the United States, said CEO and Founder Douglas Clark. He will start by hiring three UNH interns and a full-time project manager to develop by January 2012 a plan for full-scale manufacturing. Established in 2008, New England Footwear currently sources its product from China.
