The National Basketball Association’s Development League unveiled a unique deal that will see sponsor logos on all its playoff team jerseys.
The league has signed a pact with Spain’s Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria S.A. (BBVA) to make the bank the presenting partner of the D-League playoffs and finals.

The agreement, an extension of BBVA’s two year-old partnership with the NBA, will see a co-branded D-League/BBVA logo used during events and broadcasts, and the BBVA logo will be featured prominently in arenas.

The BBVA logo will also appear on all jerseys, above the numbers in the space usually reserved for players’ names. Names will now appear under the numbers.

The deal is the second major sponsorship move by BBVA in the U.S. in recent months.  In December, the bank signed a 10-year deal for the naming rights to the Houston Dynamo’s new stadium.

Financial terms of the deal with the D-League were not disclosed.
