Nautilus is opening a new apparel and footwear factory outlet for cycling, running and fitness enthusiasts Friday, June 8 at the Woodburn Company Stores complex along Interstate 5 at Woodburn, OR. The 2,400-foot factory store is the twelfth such store opened by the Nautilus Apparel Division over the past 10 years, which markets cycling and running apparel under the Pearl iZUMi brand, and fitness apparel under the Nautilus brand.
“Like many apparel manufacturers, we find that maintaining factory stores helps us keep our inventory current, reduces markdown dollars, and improves sell-through and margins for both our specialty retailers and us,” said Juergen Eckmann, President of the Apparel Division for Nautilus, Inc. “With numerous retailers serving a large base of outdoor enthusiasts in the Pacific Northwest, another factory store in the region is necessary for balanced growth.”
The Nautilus Apparel Division markets high-performance cycling and running apparel and footwear bearing the 50-year-old Pearl iZUMi brand through 2,000 independent bike dealers, and specialty cycling, running and active outdoor retailers primarily in North America and Western Europe. The Pearl iZUMi brand is known for its leadership in combining apparel technology and innovation with comfort, fit and fashion required by fitness enthusiasts.
The Nautilus Apparel Division also made a limited introduction of Nautilus apparel with Responsiv Fitness Technology to protect fitness enthusiasts while working out indoors. Overall, the Apparel Division has grown at 11-20 percent annually for the past seven years.
The Woodburn location is the second factory store location in Oregon, after first opening a location in Bend in 2004. Other locations include: Silverthorne, Colo; Park City, Utah; Vacaville, Lake Tahoe, San Diego, Milpitas, and Gilroy (reopening soon), Calif; Aurora, Ill.; Dawsonville, Ga.; and North Conway, N.H.
