Moving Comfort announced the addition of Laura Savery as technical bra design manager.

Savery brings with her extensive experience in technical design within intimate apparel. Her main responsibilities will be to manage Moving Comfort sports bra design and development and ensure the team continues to drive innovation and best-in-class sports bras that meet the fit, comfort, and functional needs of active women.

“I've had the extreme pleasure of working with the bra development team at Moving Comfort for the past year and I couldn’t be more excited to join this talented team of women,” said Savery.

Savery graduated from the internationally renowned De Montfort University in Leicester, United Kingdom. In addition to consulting with a multitude of companies worldwide, she most recently served as senior lecturer at De Montfort University teaching technical training courses in areas of design, pattern cutting, grading and manufacture technique. Savery specializes in plus sized cup pattern cutting and grading techniques, providing unmatched expertise for Moving Comfort's line of C+ cup bras.

“Our sports bra business is at an all-time high,” said Julie Baxter, vice president of Moving Comfort. “Laura's technical expertise, design talent, and professional experience only further positions Moving Comfort as a powerhouse in sports bra development. She has been collaborating along side our bra team for several months now and will be able to dive right into our future concepts without missing a beat.”

Moving Comfort has been engineering sports bras for over 20 years, and continues to stay on the forefront of sports bra development. The investment has paid off, earning the brand the No. 1 position in the sports bra category in the specialty running channel as of the latest Leisure Trends Group Running RetailTRAK. The company is committed to investing in R & D and most recently opened a biomechanics lab at their headquarters. The brand uses this state-of-the art, on-site facility to analyze women’s gait and body movement to determine the ideal bra materials and construction, the degree of support each bra offers, and the corresponding impact level rating by cup size. Savery will use her expertise and work closely with the lab in conducting extensive testing and analysis of bras early in the development cycle.

“I am passionate about Moving Comfort’s commitment to help women of all shapes and sizes find their best fitting sports bra so they feel comfortable and confident when they workout,” said Savery. “I look forward to delivering continued innovation and great styling to the collection.”

Savery is relocating from United Kingdom to Washington State in September.
