Mountainsmith, a manufacturer of backcountry equipment and recreational outdoor gear based in Golden, CO, revealed a series of internal promotions and new positions as well as the addition of Andrew Mills, whose main role will be to reinforce connections between the company’s regional rep force and its rapidly growing dealer base.
Among the in-house transitions, Mountainsmith’s former National Sales Manager, Jonathan McFarland, will leverage his more than 15 years of industry experience as operations manager.
Torie Palffy, former sales and marketing coordinator for Mountainsmith, will manage creative endeavors, working with brand partners in the areas of PR, digital marketing and content creation. Palffy will also be supporting brand reps, dealers and industry allies to grow brand recognition in her new role as marketing manager.
“Mountainsmith is riding a wave of tremendous year-over-year growth, nearly doubling the size of the business in the last five years,” said Mountainsmith President Jay Getzel. “The relationships we’ve forged with dealers and consumers alike have led to sustained profitability and increased market share. Our personnel moves will surely help to perpetuate these trends and afford us the bandwidth to be consistently proactive as we approach our 40th anniversary in 2019.”
Mountainsmith’s newest in-house team member is Sales Manager Andrew Mills, who brings an experience from his past roles at Patagonia Footwear and Merrell. He has proven his ability to work with internal and external sales teams, growing solid partnerships with large and small dealers.
“It’s such an honor to be joining a brand like Mountainsmith,” said Mills. “Their rich history in the outdoor space and passion for making quality gear makes this a dream company to work for. I’m excited to hit the ground running and support our agency partners with additional bandwidth as they continue to drive growth for the future.”
