Coming off an impressive year of sales in California, Hawaii, Nevada and Arizona, Mountainsmith’s Pacific Recreation group captures the company’s 2011 Anvil Award for Agency of the Year.

Pacific Recreation Group is owned and managed by Jeremiah “JJ” Anderson with support from Colton Bryant. In a market plagued by recession, JJ and Colton led a surge in sales and market share in their territory to secure the honor.

The announcement was made by Jay Getzel, director of sales and marketing for the Colorado-based supplier of outdoor packs and bags.

A strong work ethic, combined with exemplary product and service back-up, enabled JJ and Colton to take home the honor. Their goal was to actively maintain existing dealer relationships while taking advantage of a territory rich in outdoor activities in order to build the Mountainsmith brand. They focused on providing targeted product assortments that fit the needs of their market and have been able to grow their territory by 35% in the two years that they have been with Mountainsmith.

“JJ and Colton logged hundreds of critical hours in 2011 behind the windshield to meet face to face with shop owners and employees in an era when the majority of communication is done electronically.  They have achieved growth through their creativity with special programs, the re-engagement of key accounts and their bandwidth to engage all of our dealers in the region,” commented Jay.

“We are very grateful to Mountainsmith for this recognition,” said Anderson.  “It is a testament to the whole team. Their sales and customer service support were exceptional.  We appreciate the recognition, but tip our hats to Mountainsmith for giving us the tools to have this level of growth.”
