Mountain Hardwear has hired  Jennifer Zollars as senior product line manager of sportswear and Karie Carter as women’s design manager.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Jenn and Karie join our product team,” said Robert Fry, director of product merchandising and product at Mountain Hardwear. “They both bring an inspiring level of focus and enthusiasm to the company.”

With 14 years in the outdoor industry, Zollars provides a distinctive viewpoint as a former rep for brands like Royal Robins, Horny Toad, Cloudveil and Lole. Her women’s specific expertise comes from years as a product line manager for brands such as Mountain Hardwear parent Colombia Sportswear and, most recently, Eddie Bauer. An avid hiker, trail runner, snowboarder and camper, Zollars says she loves Mountain Hardwear’s support of its employees’ outdoor passions.

“I bring a unique perspective to the potential of Mountain Hardwear’s sportswear line,” Zollars said. “It’s exciting to work with such a talented group of people, who are so passionate about the brand. I look forward to seeing what we can build as a team, to make us a driver in the sportswear market.”

With design experience at a breadth of athletic and outdoor brands, including NIKE, Columbia Sportswear, New Balance and most recently The North Face, Carter has a clear understanding of Mountain Hardwear’s promise to create products that enhance the outdoor athlete’s experience. A lifelong lover of the outdoors, Carter grew up camping and fishing in Oregon and today enjoys hiking, skiing, watersports and has recently picked up flyfishing.

“I’m really excited about the opportunity to shape the future of women’s business at Mountain Hardwear,” said Carter. “My experience lies in both Sportswear and Outerwear so I’m really looking forward to weaving the two together.”
