Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC) has hired Nathalie Baudoin as Senior Manager of Communications and Marketing. Peter Robinson, chief executive officer, said the appointment follows a year-long search, within and outside Canada, to find an executive to lead the bilingual communication and marketing activities of Canada's leading outdoor.

MEC noted that Baudoin has extensive experience in the outdoor retail sector and sustainability initiatives. From 1989 to 2001, she oversaw communications and marketing for Patagonia in Europe, launching the popular outdoor brand in 14 countries and five languages. More recently, she was the principal of Green Press, a Paris-based consulting firm providing sustainability communications to businesses and non-governmental organizations in France.

A native of France and a recent resident of Paris, Ms. Baudoin is fluent in English, French, German and Spanish. She holds a Masters in Foreign Languages from Paris-Sorbonne University and an Executive Graduate Degree from
INSEAD business school in Fontainebleau, France.

Baudoin is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys cycling, hiking, ski touring and trail running. She has two teenage children. Together, they will be relocating to Vancouver from Paris in July.
