Bob Stevenish, president and COO of Modell’s Sporting Goods, plans to
retire from the northeast sporting goods chain, effective February 1,
2008. CEO Mitchell Modell will assume all of the merchandising
responsibilities that formally belonged to Stevenish and become CEO
and president.

“Our company has grown tremendously under Bob’s
leadership and involvement,” said Modell. “His tireless dedication and
unique understanding of the business certainly has made a lasting
impression throughout the company and industry as well.”

programs and our organizational development have positioned the company
to produce great results in the future,” said Stevenish, who has over
43 years in the retail industry. “I am grateful to the Modell’s family,
Mitchell Modell and all the wonderful associates for making the past 5
years so exciting and rewarding.”

Prior to joining Modell's in
2002, Stevenish served as CEO of Trilegiant Corporation, a Membership
and Marketing firm with 22 Million Active Members. From 1997 to 2000,
Stevenish was president and ceo of Fedco, a retail
membership company in Southern California. Prior to ‘97, he held high
ranking positions with Montgomery Ward and Hills Department Store,
which followed his 27 years with JC Penney in various senior management
roles, including the Office of the Chairman.

Stevenish also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the
Retail Industry Leaders Association and a member of its Executive
Committee, a member of the Board of Trustees of Clark University and a
member of the Board of Fedco Charitable Foundation.

Modell’s operates 136 stores in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania,
Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Delaware,
Maryland, Virginia, , and Washington, DC.
