The global editors of Runner’s World magazine awarded their first ever International “Best Debut” award to the Mizuno Wave Elixir performance running shoe.

The Mizuno Wave Elixir was praised as “light, stable and responsive” by editors in the Netherlands and Belgium, while Runner’s World editors in Sweden called it “a light and flexible shoe with a great mix of cushioning and stability.” Wear-testers in Sweden also called it “perfect for speedwork,” and editors in the U.K. liked Mizuno’s SmoothRide midsole, saying it gave the Elixir “enhanced heel-to-toe transition and good durability.”

“We are proud and honored that the Mizuno Wave Elixir has been selected for this prestigious, international award from Runner’s World” said Bob Puccini, President Mizuno USA, Inc., and Chairman, Mizuno Canada, Ltd. “The global accolades that Mizuno running shoes continue to receive are a testament to not only the performance of our patented Wave Technology, but also superior designs, materials, and the countless other innovative technologies utilized to enhance the running experience.”

“At Mizuno we are constantly improving upon the design and technology utilized in our running shoes,” said Tom Elwell, Vice President and General Manager, Mizuno USA Athletic Division. “The growing number of Editors’ Choice, Best Update, and Best Debut awards that Mizuno has received from Runner’s World, both in the U.S. and internationally, can be directly attributed to our unmatched Global Research & Design, and the Wave Elixir is yet another example of the huge strides Mizuno has made in the Support category in particular.”
