Mavic Inc. has promoted longtime factory sales representative Aaron Walker to the new position of product merchandising manager and hired new sales reps in the upper Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions.

In the upper Midwest, the rep agency RP Active Sports takes over for the territory previously covered by Walker, while in the Mid-Atlantic, Adrenaline Sports Group (ASG) will represent the brand.

“This is a great move for our company and for Aaron,” said Phillip Sporidis, Managing Director for Mavic, Inc. “Our products are highly technical, and having his help with managing the product assortment in North America, plus educating our staff and dealer network, will be a significant asset.”

Along with helping to guide the product range for North America, Walker will take responsibility for ensuring complete product knowledge among the sales force, dealers, and Mavic employees.

Walker leaves Mavic’s upper Midwest sales representation in the capable hands of Tom Harber, Steve Bobusch, Chris Ballak, TJ Erlacker, and Peter Leugers. They are members of the RP Active Sports agency and will collectively cover Minnesota, Iowa, North and South Dakota. A member of RP since 2006, Harber has a strong background in the cycling business. He spent six years as a company rep for GT Riteway, five years as a retail store owner, and eight years as an independent rep. Bobusch brings 20 years of industry experience, including six at retail, ten with Quality Bicycle Products, and four as an independent rep with RP Active Sports.

Covering the Mid-Atlantic region, Bart Passanantes and Roberts Moore of ASG are also joining Mavic as of this month.
“Ongoing improvements to our sales program and alignment of our sales force with company goals position us well for continued growth,” said Sporidis.

Other staffing changes at Mavic include the upcoming departure of Communications Manager Zack Vestal. Vestal joined Mavic in October 2010 following nearly two years as an editor at VeloNews. He resigned his position effective August 8 to pursue another opportunity in the cycling industry.

“Zack’s contributions to Mavic over the last four years have been invaluable. His passion for the brand and professional work ethic will be sorely missed,” said Chad Moore, Marketing Director for Mavic Inc., “We wish Zack all the best in his future endeavors.” All communications and media inquiries will be handled by Moore until the position can be filled.

Mavic, which is based in Annecy, France, operates its U.S. office in Haverhill, MA. The company, which is owned by Amer Sports,  is a world leader in technology and innovation in bicycle wheels, rims, components, technical apparel and footwear.
